The caretaker chairman of Donga Local Government Area in Taraba State, Hon.
Nashuka Ipeyen, yesterday narrowly escaped assassination by militias suspected to be Jukun who were protesting his stance for peace and support for the security agencies, leading to the arrest of some of their members by security agencies in the area.
Nashuka said it took the efforts of the military and Mobile policemen deployed in the area to keep the peace to rescue him and others from the lodge where the meeting was being held. “The Jukun militias attacked me yesterday that I am supporting the military and Tiv people. I was, however, rescued alongside others.
