The historic downtown steak and seafood house is now open 365 days a year
For the first time in its 116-year-old history, John’s Grill will welcome hungry San Franciscans for the most festive food day of the year.
Since the COVID-19 pandemic, Konstin and other neighboring downtown business owners and city leaders have made it a priority to rejuvenate the beleaguered Union Square.The holiday will be less than a month removed from John’s Grill hosting its traditional Election Day luncheon, which featured more than 4,000 San Francisco politicos, luminaries, media members, and Bay Area residents flooding across Ellis Street, which was closed off to car traffic.
Konstin added that he was also more motivated to serve food on Thanksgiving because of the success and popularity of their Christmas Day opening, which started in 2022. “Our chef has been making trial runs of tasting recipes for about two weeks now,” Konstin said. “It should be fun.”
