Mr Peter Obi of the Labour Party, LP, says he agrees with Bill Gates’s comment on the Nigeria’s “japa” syndrome.
In a post via his verified Twitter handle on Thursday, Obi said he had maintained that “Our brain drain today will be our brain gain tomorrow.” He further added that if the nation starts doing the right things and taking governance more seriously, the country will benefit, insisting it had happened in China, India, Ireland and other developing countries.
“I have always preached and maintained this same position on the “japa wave”. For years now, and throughout my campaign in the last Presidential election, especially during my tours from Canada, the USA, Germany, the UK, and other countries, I maintained that “Our brain drain today will be our brain gain tomorrow.
