Alex Iwobi scored a stunning goal for Fulham, but Wolves secured a 4-1 victory to climb out of the relegation zone. Meanwhile, Tottenham shocked Manchester City with a 4-0 win, while Arsenal and Chelsea also triumphed in the EPL.
Alex Iwobi scored his third goal of the season in Fulham 's 4-1 loss to Wolves . Iwobi scored the opener but could not prevent Fulham from crashing 4-1 to Wolverhampton Wanderers in their English Premier League (EPL) encounter at the Craven Cottage on Saturday. The 28-year-old crashed a left-footed strike into the far corner of the net from outside the penalty area to give the home side the lead, a strike that left Calvin Bassey, his fellow international, stunned.
The goal is Iwobi’s third this season and his third goal in three consecutive matches against the visitors. The left winger scored a total of six goals when facing the Wolves, which is the highest he has scored against any EPL club. Wolves would score three second-half goals to claim a much-needed 4-1 win that moved the club out of the relegation zone, while Fulham are in 10th position with 18 points from 12 matches. In the main match of the day, Tottenham trounced Manchester City 4-0 at the Etihad Stadium to condemn the EPL defending champions to a fifth consecutive loss in all competitions. James Maddison a brace in the first half before second-half strikes by Pedro Porro and Brennan Johnson sealed a crushing defeat that confirmed Man City’s fifth consecutive loss for the first time since 2006. Pep Guardiola, who lost a fifth straight match for the first time in his managerial career, sees his ageing side stuck in second place, five points behind leaders Liverpool, who have played a game less. Arsenal, however, returned to winning ways with a 3-0 drubbing of Nottingham Forest, while Chelsea secured a 2-1 win over Leicester to move into third place on the EPL log
