Goals from Nigerian Alex Iwobi and Brazil’s Andrade Richarlison saw Everton triumph 3-2 over Wolverhampton Wanderers on Sunday.
Iwobi netted his first Everton Premier League goal after converting Gylfi Sigurdsson’s cross with a header.Iwobi scored his first goal for Everton in Wednesday’s League Cup outing against Lincoln City.
Both of Iwobi’s goals for Everton this season have come via headers; one more than during his time at Arsenal, where just one of his 15 goals for the Gunners were headers. Richarlison opened score for the hosts at Goodison Park in the fifth minute but the lead was cancelled out by Moroccan Romain Saiss four minutes later. Richarlison added another in the 80th minute to ensure a 3-2 win for the hosts.
Commenting on Fabian Delph, Iwobi and Moise Kean, Everton manager Marco Silva was quoted by BBC saying, “They did really well. I prefer to look at the team rather than individuals. For Fabian and Alex, it is easier because they know the Premier League. We are talking about high-quality players. They know the league, intensity and the opponents.
“Moise did well but we are talking about a boy who was 19 in February. He worked well but he needs more time to adapt to know the players, teams and even the referees.”All rights reserved.
