The Ondo State first lady, Mrs Betty Anyanwu-Akeredolu, has urged women to embrace information communication technology and other life enhancing skills for their self-development.
Akeredolu said, ” I listened to the presentations of young people around the world, on the need to expand digital literacy and skills to include all regardless of who you are, where you live and who you love. The world has gone digital in all spheres of life thereby creating a whole lot of job opportunities. Women and girls must not be left behind.”
The first lady, who also charged the women to train the boy-child to be responsible, explained that if boys were well trained, they will grow up to be good men and the world will be vices free. In her remarks, the state Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Development, Mrs Julianna Osadahun, said the theme of the conference ‘Digit All: Innovation and Technology for Gender Equality’, was borne out of many gender-challenging issues faced by women and girls in information communication technology, finding solutions to indigenous women and their territorial battles, enlarging women entrepreneurs and financing initiatives using women entrepreneurship.
