Warner Bros. Discovery has released a new batch of It: Welcome to Derry first look images, previewing the upcoming spin-off.
The new photos don’t show much in the way of Pennywise the Clown but do show various residents of Derry, the town in which the series takes place. The series stars, who directed It and It Chapter Two, developed Welcome to Derry alongside Barbara Muschietti and Jason Fuchs. Andy Muschietti is directing four episodes in the nine-episode series.
Andy and Barbara Muschietti also serve as executive producers alongside Skarsgård, Fuchs, Brad Caleb Kane, David Coatsworth, Shelley Meals, Roy Lee, and Dan Lin. Fuchs and Kane serve as co-showrunners. “Set in the world of Stephen King’s It universe, Welcome to Derry is based on King’s It novel,” the series’ current description reads. “It expands the vision established by filmmaker Andy Muschietti in the feature films It and It Chapter Two.”
While an exact release date has not yet been announced, Welcome to Derry is expected to premiere sometime in 2025 on HBO. It, meanwhile, is currently streaming on Apple TV+ for subscribers, while It Chapter Two is available to rent on various streaming platforms such as Apple TV+, Amazon Prime Video, and more.Anthony Nash has been writing about games and the gaming industry for nearly a decade.
