In view of the rainstorm that wreaked havoc on Isanlu town in Yagba East Local Government Area last Sunday, the Kogi State House of Assembly has called on the State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA) to carry out an on-the-spot assessment to determine the extent of the devastation and position relief materials for the affected victims.

The assembly made the call during the house plenary held in Lokoja on Tuesday.

Earlier, Hon Emmanuel Obaro, who represents Yagba East State Constituency in the Kogi State House of Assembly, had informed the House, in a matter of urgent public importance, that Isanlu community witnessed a devastating and ruinous misfortune occasioned by heavy rainfall mixed with a storm. According to him, many roofs were blown off, houses were destroyed, and farmlands were inundated by volumes of rainwater, displacing many families.
