The Indigenous People of Biafra has criticized the recent declaration of a “second Biafra independence” by Simon Ekpa’s faction in Finland.
In a statement, IPOB distanced itself from the Finland declaration, emphasizing that only the 1967 Biafra proclamation by the late Dim Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu holds legitimacy. IPOB accused the organizers of being infiltrators and provocateurs working to destabilize the Southeast region and distract from the group’s peaceful advocacy for self-determination.
IPOB reaffirmed its commitment to a United Nations-supervised referendum to allow Biafrans to decide their political future.
