The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) has said that neither the group nor its security wing, the Eastern Security Network (ESN) has any business with the Niger Delta oil pipeline security nor is interested in being part of the pipeline security guards.
A pro-Biafra group under the umbrella of the Biafra Nations League had claimed that the Niger Delta warlord and former militant leader, Government Ekpemupolo reached out to them, expressing his interest in recruiting the group’s members for the oil pipeline security job.On Monday, IPOB in a statement by its Media and Publicity, Emma Powerful, said that none of its members is allowed to get involved in what it described as deceptive and dehumanising pipeline security.
“It has become imperative to make the position of IPOB leadership very clear on this matter and to at the same time sound a note of warning to all IPOB family members as well as ESN operatives that guarding the crude oil pipeline which the Nigerian government uses to steal our natural resources for Nigeria our oppressor is not and will never be part of IPOB's core aims and objectives.
