The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), has called on the United Kingdom (UK) to evacuate its leader, Nnamdi Kanu alongside other Britons from Nigeria, particularly, Abuja. IPOB made the call following the warning of a terror attack at Nigeria’s capital, Abuja, by the UK and the US Embassies. Kanu who was resident in the UK before his rendition from Kenya by the Nigerian government possesses dual citizenship as a Nigerian and a Briton.

In a statement by its Media and Publicity Secretary, Emma Powerful, IPOB also warned the Nigerian government against any harm befalling its leader. “IPOB is monitoring the security situation in Abuja conscientiously and will unleash our own venomous action on them if they fail to release our leader Mazi Nnamdi Kanu.
“It will be shameful to the British Government if they evacuate other citizens and leave Mazi Nnamdi Kanu in the hands of the DSS.
