Zamfara State Governor Dauda Lawal has requested additional relief support from the National Commission for Refugees, Migrants, and Internally Displaced Persons for affected victims of banditry and disaster in the state.
A statement issued by the spokesperson to the governor, Sulaiman Bala Idris, noted that the request became imperative given the refugee commission's role in providing relief to those affected by disasters. According to the statement, the governor made the request during a courtesy visit to Tijjani Aliyu Ahmed, the Federal Commissioner of the National Commission for Refugees, Migrants and Internally Displaced Persons.

According to the statement, due to limited resources, the governor emphasised the need for partnerships and collaborations in mitigating the sufferings of over 2,000 refugees in Zamfara State.
