The Minister of Water Resources, Suleiman Hussein Adamu has said the $150m African Development Bank Assisted Rural Water Supply and Sanitation projects in the North-East has suffered a major setback due to insecurity.
The breakdown of the facility showed that the sum of $5.9m is for the Federal Ministry of Water Resources; $33m for Adamawa State; $29m for Bauchi State; $38m for Borno State; $16m for Gombe State; $16m for Taraba State, while $12m is unallocated. He said, “It is worthy to note that, each state is directly responsible for the program implementation while Federal Ministry of Water Resources carries out oversight and quality assurance The entire programme has following three main components: service delivery, economic recovery, and institutional strengthening
