The Independent National Electoral Commission has expressed worry over the failure to collect over 360,000 Permanent Voter Cards in Kano. The State Resident Electoral Commissioner , Ambassador Abdu Zango, disclosed this on Saturday when he received members of a committee set up by the Kano State Government to boost awareness about the ongoing voter registration exercise.
Ambassador Zango urged the committee to intensify its campaign, noting that all uncollected cards are still in INEC’s custody. He praised the state government for setting up the body, adding that its diverse membership and leadership under Waiya would help drive the exercise successfully. He also assured the committee of INEC’s cooperation in mobilizing eligible voters for both registration and collection of PVCs.
