The chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, Prof. Mahmood Yakubu has said that the commission’s plans for Election Day may be significantly affected by the non-availability of fuel in the country.

Professor Yakubu noted that the issue of logistics has been a perennial problem in election administration in Nigeria. “The time has come to stop all excuses and provide effective logistics to ensure hitch-free logistics on Election Day,” he said. The INEC boss reminded the union that there should be no inter-state movement since its members are scattered across the nation and also that the MoU between the two bodies covers both forward and reverse logistics.
