The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has issued certificates of return to 25 elected members of the Ekiti state house of assembly.
Abayomi Salami, INEC resident electoral commissioner in the state, on Thursday, presented the certificates to the elected lawmakers, except for the Ido-Osi constituency 1 whose polls were declared inconclusive.“I want to appreciate all the stakeholders in the political parties and all of you who have cooperated and collaborated to ensure that we have a very peaceful election in Ekiti state,” Salami said.
In his remarks, Hakeem Jamiu, deputy speaker of the state, said the election was one of the most transparent in the history of the state.“We have nine CoR presented to women who will be representing the people. This is highly commendable,” he said Speaking with journalists after the presentation, Obasa assured that the assembly will pass laws that will protect residents.
“We want to assure the people of Lagos state that we will continue to make laws, pass motions and resolutions that will bring progress to Lagos and protect the interests of residents.”Obasa pledged to support the state governor in his assignments to bring growth and progress to Lagos as well as protect the lives and property of residents.
