INEC Deploys Commissioners and Staff to Support Electoral Process in Kogi State

Two National Commissioners, nine resident Electoral Commissioners and Administrative Secretaries as well as additional staff from different states are to support the electoral process in Kogi State. The National Chairman of the Independent Electoral Commission, Prof.

Mahmud Yakubu, disclosed this on Friday, at the last press briefing ahead of the Kogi State governorship election . Prof. Yakubu maintained that all sensitive and non- sensitive materials have been delivered for the election. The Bimodal voter accreditation system he disclosed has been configured for deployment to polling units .

According to him, it is the only means of voter verification and fingerprint/facial biometric authentication of voters. While noting that polling unit results will be uploaded to the INEC result viewing IReV portal, the INEC Chairman described the election as a multi-stakeholder responsibility. He called for the support of all stakeholders in ensuring the peaceful conduct of the Kogi State Governorship Election.
