Justice Ayua’s pronouncement is coming on the heels of a restraining order issued on Wednesday against Rivers State’s lawmakers by a High Court of the state, stopping them from proceeding with the planned impeachment. Justice Ayua also ordered that the respondents be notified about the pending suit, marked: FHC/PH/CS/234/2023, and motion on notice for interlocutory injunctions.Listed as respondents/defendants in the suit are the Rivers State House of Assembly, the Speaker, Deputy Speaker, the state’s Chief Judge; Commissioner of Police, Rivers State; Director, Department of State Services , Rivers State; the Governor of Rivers State; Deputy Governor of Rivers State and the Inspector General of the .
