The Imo State Police Command is set to investigate allegations of extortion involving the sum of N150,000 from a woman by yet-to-be-identified officers of the command. In a press statement issued by its spokesperson, DSP Henry Okoye, the command acknowledged a viral TikTok video posted by one Miss Jennifer Kingsley.

In the video, she alleged that on 20 February 2025, while on her way to take her baby to school, she and the father of her child were assaulted by unidentified police officers on patrol in Amakohia, Owerri, and that during the incident, a sum of N150,000 was extorted from her. Okoye stated that, in response to the complaint, the command has invited the victim to file an official report, and the matter is now under investigation.

'The command is also aware of the public discussions surrounding this complaint, including comments from TikTok blogger @missnatural01. Under the leadership of CP Aboki Danjuma, the Imo State Police Command remains dedicated to upholding professionalism and accountability while ensuring public safety,' Okoye stated. He urged members of the public to provide any useful information that could assist in the investigation by contacting the command’s Public Relations Department.
