Apex Igbo socio-cultural organisation, Ohanaeze Ndigbo on Friday, September 22, called on the federal government to put in place necessary security measures

Ndigbo on Friday, September 22, called on the federal government to put in place necessary security measures to forestall the wanton killings and violence going on in Imo state and the southeast in general.President General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide, Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu, made the call following the killings of security agents and innocent citizens by gunmen in Imo state.

Reacting to the heinous incident, Iwuanyanwu called on the federal government and relevant security agents to leave no stone unturned in finding the killers and bring them to book.He said: “My heart bleeds at the sad events in Igbo land where Igbos are for the first time, killing fellow Igbos. I call on the federal government to fish out the perpetrators of this heinous crime and make sure they face the law.

He added that he had been very distressed by the rate at which the Nigerian security operatives are killed not only in Igboland but all over the country,
