Imo declares two-day holiday for collection of PVCs | TheCable

Imo state has approved January 26 and 27 as holidays in the state to enable civil servants to collect their permanent voter cards (PVCs).

This was contained in a statement signed by Declan Emelumba, the commissioner for information and strategy on Thursday.He advised people the people of Imo to judiciously use the days in order to not suffer disenfranchisement in the forthcoming election.“Much as the government doesn’t want you to be disenfranchised, we urge you to utilize these two days and obtain your permanent voters’ cards from your various collection centres,” he said.

“This will enable you to exercise your franchise and vote for candidates of your choice in February elections.”January 26 and 27 as work-free days in the state for residents to collect their PVCs.
