The Nigeria Immigration Service has issued the passport of a tourist guide, Adesanya Oresanya, who accused a NIS officer, Bako Doma, of extorting him of N200, 000 for the renewal of his passport.
He added, “Upon publication of my report on January 31, 2023, I got a call from the SA Servicom at Nigeria Immigration Service and thereafter, the Service PRO of the NIS, Tony Akuneme.
“The NIS spokesperson took the matter up with a promise that he will ensure that all loose ends to whatever complications that have caused the logjam are tightened not just because of my case at hand but for the future of better service delivery for Nigerians and ultimately for my passport to be produced and delivered to me within the shortest possible time.
“Though I had to go back to Abuja on March 6 to recapture my biometrics; I got a notice of my passport being produced on April 14 with the data page sent to me and took delivery of the passport at Abeokuta on Monday, April 24, 2023. I must also show my profound gratitude to The PUNCH Newspapers for taking this matter up. The story was helpful eventually by aiding me to get my passport itches resolved after two years.”All rights reserved.
