IK Ogbonna has raised concerns about the lack of safety measures in Nollywood, particularly regarding late night shooting and the impact it has on the health of actors. He emphasizes the need for a medical department on every film set and highlights the frequent loss of celebrated Nollywood artists due to the industry's demanding work schedule.
IK Ogbonna called the attention of the governing body to regulate late night shooting particularly for those who work tirelessly back and forth, developing weak immune systems.
The light-skinned actor added that a body that does not receive adequate rest deteriorates and lamented the frequent loss of celebrated Nollywood artistes.“We must urgently address the issue of safety in Nollywood. There are several important points I would like to emphasize, but to summarize, it is crucial that every movie set includes a medical department from now on.
“It is disheartening to say but we only hear of the celebrated we lose, but we tragically lose crew members all too frequently. May this unfortunate loss serve as a catalyst for change, ultimately saving lives,” he wrote.
