IG: Police Arrested 323 Electoral Offenders during Presidential Election via thisdaylive
The Acting Inspector General of Police, Mohammed Adamu, has disclosed that a total of 323 persons were arrested in states across the country in connection to various electoral infractions committed during the February 23 presidential and National Assembly elections.
“It is noted that updated statistics resulting from presidential and National Assembly elections, shows that a total of 323 offenders have so far been arrested for various electoral offences and sundry crimes across the country. Two officers also paid the supreme sacrifice, while some others were assaulted and injured.
The IG said the purpose of the meeting was to undertake a comprehensive evaluation of the police performance during the presidential and National Assembly elections as well as perfect plans and allocate operational tasks towards the governorship and state assembly elections scheduled for March 9, 2019.
