Rounding out the top three was “lizottes”, a slightly less common password that was used 98,220 times in 2021 and would take about three hours to crack.The index is measured according to the number of passwords leaked per capita and is separated into three categories: low, average and high.Australia’s most popular password last year was ‘123456’ according to new data from Nord Security.Russia, Canada and the US were among the other countries ranked as high on the index for data leaks.
According to Nord Security, “dolphin” ranked number one for animal-related passwords in many countries, while “Ferrari” and “Porsche” were the most popular car brands used.
