The presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi has reacted to the security advisory issued by the United States Embassy to its citizens in Nigeria. Obi in an interview on Arise TV on Monday morning, however, declined to state how he intends to curb insecurity in the country should he win the presidential election in 2023. The former Anambra governor said even if they put a gun to his head, he won’t reveal the details of how he intends to handle Nigeria’s security challenges because if he says it, it won’t work out.

Speaking on how integral adequate security is to a nation, Obi said, “Yes, I said my first responsibility in this country is to secure lives and property; it is the most critical thing because unless you do it, nobody will invest. The farmers can’t go to farm so there’s no food production, there’s nothing that will happen without security.”
