I wasn’t told of ‘donations’ entering Najib’s account, insists Zeti

The former BNM governor says a statement in a letter from AmBank that Najib Razak was ‘expecting remittances’ was merely a ‘general term’.

Zeti Akhtar Aziz said the attorney-general’s chambers imposed a RM15 million compound on 1MDB despite Bank Negara recommending it to be set at RM23 million.

Testifying in Najib’s 1MDB trial, Zeti told the High Court she only met former AmBank managing director Cheah Tek Kuang “briefly” at her office on Jan 28, 2011.
