A 47-year-old Chinese national, Mr Frank Geng-Quangrong, who is standing trial for culpable homicide, on Thursday, admitted before a Kano High Court that he stabbed his Nigerian girlfriend, Ummukulsum Sani, 22, with a knife.

The Chinese, who resides in Railway quarters, Kano under cross-examination by the Prosecution Counsel, Kano State Director, Public Prosecution, Mrs Aisha Mahmoud, told the court that on a lot transpired between the defendant and the deceased.

“I escaped from the room through the window, because the door was locked from the outside and wanted to take Ummukulsum to the hospital but the police promptly arrived and arrested me,” Geng-Quangrong said “I retired in 2018 but still in active practice.
