”I said my last prayers when terrorists attacked Kuje prison” – Ex-Gov. Nyame via politicsngr
, published on Sunday.
Recall that on July 5, Islamic State’s West Africa Province terrorists invaded the Medium Security Custodial Centre, Kuje. The outlaws freed 879 inmates; among them 64 Boko Haram members and other criminals. At the time, Nyame and a former governor of Plateau State, Senator Joshua Dariye, were in the facility.
Both were released from the Kuje Custodial Centre on August 8, 2022, following a pardon by the Council of State, led by President Muhammadu Buhari.“On that day, the gunshots I heard were terrible. To be honest with you, I had to say my last prayers that day, because the sound and what we were passing through emotionally made me so scared.
“I couldn’t believe I would be alive to see the following morning; so, I had to say my last prayers, but God in His infinite mercy saw me and others through that life-threatening experience.”
