The immediate past governor of Anambra State, Mr Willie Obiano, has denied saying he regretted making his successor and current governor of the state, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo, the governor.
Obiano was reacting to a widespread rumour making the rounds and alleging that he told some people in a meeting that he regretted making Soludo the governor of the state.
The rumour also quoted Obiano as saying he discussed impeachment moves against Soludo with the deputy governor, Dr Onyekachukwu Ibezim, and the Speaker of the state House of Assembly, Mr Uche Okafor. Reacting further through a statement made available to journalists in Awka, on Thursday, by his Chief Publicist, Tony Nezianya, the former governor insisted that he never said anything like that.The statement read, “I have not at any fora expressed misgivings about him. I never said to anyone or a group that I am disappointed in him.
