Former Brazilian attacker, Adriano, has claimed that he is obsessed with wasting his life. The former Inter Milan star stated this while opening up about his alcoholism and accusations of drug abuse.
Adriano , whose nickname was 'Emperor' during his playing days at Inter Milan, was one of the most deadly strikers in Europe during his prime. However, his career plummeted after the death of his father, leading to him becoming alcoholic. Adriano finally hung up his boots in 2016. He returned to his hometown Vila Cruzeiro Favela in Rio de Janeiro after his retirement from football.
'Do you know what it feels like to be a promise? I know. Including an unfulfilled promise. Football’s biggest waste: Me. I like that word, waste. Not only because of how it sounds, but because I’m obsessed with wasting my life,' Adriano told The Players' Tribune . ' I'm fine like this, in frantic waste. I enjoy this stigma. I don’t do drugs, as they try to prove. I’m not into crime, but, of course, I could have been. I don’t like clubbing.
