Sonia Ekweremadu, the daughter of a former Nigerian Deputy Senate President, Ike Ekweremadu has declared that she is not involved in the organ-harvesting plot that sent her parents to jail in the United Kingdom(UK). Sonia made this known in an interview with BBC correspondent, Simi Jolaoso who reacted with news of the conviction of her parents. SaharaReporters had reported that Ike Ekweremadu and his wife, Beatrice and a medical 'middleman' were jailed for conspiring to traffic a market trader to the UK to harvest his kidney.
In response, Sonia vehemently opposed her parents' conviction and described the UK ruling as surprising.
“I understand the conviction. I personally disagree with it. However, this is from my biased perspective as their daughter. I will obviously back my parents.
