In a post via his Instagram account on Tuesday, Di Maria wrote: “I have reached the end of a difficult and complicated stage. I’m leaving with the peace of mind who gave everything to help the club continue winning titles, but it wasn’t possible. I’m leaving with the bitter taste of not being able to make it, but with the happiness of bringing with me many friends of this wonderful changing room of which I was a part of.

“Thanks to all my mates for the affection they have shown me since day one, I have always felt at home. A big greeting to all Juventus fans for their daily affection. A very big hug. I carry you in my heart. The end of a difficult and complicated stage is here. I leave with the peace of mind that I gave everything to be able to help the club continue winning titles, but it couldn’t.

“I leave with that bitter taste of not having made it but with the happiness of taking many friends from that wonderful dressing room, I was a part of.
