Governor Mohammed Jibrilla Bindow of Adamawa State has committed himself to the N30, 000 monthly minimum wage, stressing that he would pay the wage to the state civil servants before he leaves office.
“I will pay the 30,000 minimum wage before I leave office,” Bindow said to a loud applause by workers who gathered at the Mahmoud Ribadu Square in the state capital, Yola, for May Day celebration under the auspices of the Nigeria Labour Congress and Trade Union Congress . “Welfare and good conditions of service have been important to us. There are no arrears whatever as far as salary is concerned. We have paid up to April 2019 and nobody can say we are owing him any salary,” he said.
