The mum had invited a fellow mother to shelter from a storm after the school run but was left stunned by her friend's behaviour.

Being invited round to a friend's house is a sign that the bond between you is strong. As a child, it usually means they enjoy your company and think you are fun to be around.

The pair had become friends after chatting in the playground when their children had formed a bond in school. And after dropping off their brood one morning during ghastly weather, the mum was invited back to her pal's house for the first time to wait out the rain. "I put the kettle on to boil and then went to the loo, then had to take an 'urgent' phone call from my eldest's school for some reason or other, can't remember what exactly and it certainly wasn't an emergency."

Another said: "I like to think that my family feel welcome enough that they can help themselves to whatever I have. I certainly wouldn't expect it from a woman I hardly knew, she was incredibly rude."
