MTN shareholders whose names appeared in the Company’s Register of Members are also entitled to the final dividend of N10.00 per 2 kobo ordinary shares paid on March 27, 2023.

The Investor Education and Protection Fund was established under Section 205C of the Companies Act, 1956 by way Companies Act, 2013 for the promotion of investors’ awareness and protection of the interests of investors. According to the Companies and Allied Matters Act , dividends not collected within six months after a declaration by a company are unclaimed, but the investor has 12 years to make claims before it becomes statute-barred and forfeited.

Dividends that are unclaimed over a period of seven years can be borrowed by the government, through the Unclaimed Dividend Trust Fund. This loan can be used to finance the budget deficits in the country.You can claim your dividends via the MTN website –. On the drop-down menu titled ‘Investors’ tab, click ‘Shareholders’. Scroll down to ‘Unclaimed Dividends’ and follow the prompt.
