In a related development, thousands of Imo people yesterday joined the governor-elect, Emeka Ihedioha to celebrate his victory at the just concluded governorship election in the state.
A motorist, who introduced himself as Emma Iheduru, said: “I will first of all thank Senator Hope Uzodinma for weakening governor Rochas Okorocha in Orlu zone. Uzodinma divided the votes in Orlu zone, which gave Ihedioha more edge ahead of his opponents.
“We prayed, worked and hoped for this day of deliverance and God in his infinite mercy has answered our prayers and gave us a leader who we expect to take Imo State to a greater height and make Imo occupy her pride of place again in the comity of states. Udeze boasted that some of their evidences would be presented before the court. He alleged that in Imo East Senatorial District, the officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, could not use the card reader.
“Having looked into the details, we have gone through the documentation and the declaration made by INEC, We discovered that it was defective. Udeze pleaded with “Imo people to remain calm. At the end of the day justice must prevail. INEC, told us that where the card reader was not used that those areas should be cancelled but that is not what we saw in Imo state.”
