Currently expecting her first child, here's how model Jeneil Williams is handling pregnancy in a pandemic.

, and Nike, Williams has worked nonstop since she arrived on the scene back in 2010. Seven months into her pregnancy, she’s hit pause for the first time in years. “I applaud every mom out there,” she says. “This is one of those things where there are so many changes. For the first time, I [realize] I need assistance; sometimes I can’t get up on my own, or I’ll need extra help to do normal things. It’s a welcome experience, but it’s also a challenge.

The restrictions on travel have also made it harder to keep her close-knit extended family in Jamaica up to date on the developments. Williams’s solution: go virtual. “We did a baby shower on Zoom this weekend, and it’s harder than you’d think! We had our gender reveal, ate cake, and played games—all the usual things," says Williams who is expecting a daughter.

With only eight weeks to go, Williams has entered into the home stretch of picking out baby clothes, setting up the nursery, and settling on a name—all welcome distractions from the shelter-in-place order. Still, Williams is looking forward to one major post-pandemic milestone: a return to her hometown of Kingston,. “We are definitely doing a family reunion soon,” she says. “I’m already planning. I want her to see how it is in the country where mommy grew up.
