A six-year-old boy, Friday Oshodi, was buried alive for allegedly stealing N1,000 in Lokoja, the Kogi State capital, on Tuesday.

The incident was said to have occurred in Apamsede community, near the 12 Brigade Headquarters of the Nigeria Army in Lokoja.

An eyewitness told LEADERSHIP that the mother of the boys ordered the older one to punish the younger son after realising that her money was missing from where she kept it. The eyewitness explained that the cry of the little boy drew the attention of the people who were around the bush, who promptly rescued him and carried him home.When contacted, the Kogi State Police Command’s Public Relations Officer, Willy Aya, confirmed the incident and said that the suspect had been arrested and was undergoing interrogation.
