A hit-and-run driver has killed a young man crossing the Lagos-Ibadan Road, in the Challenge area of Ibadan, Oyo State.
It was learnt that the yet-to-be identified victim crossed the road on Friday evening without noticing the oncoming vehicle.
The Special Rescue Team of the Oyo State Road Transport Management Authority later took the victim’s corpse to the Adeoyo morgue. In a statement by the Executive Chairman, OYRTMA, Akin Fagbemi, motorists were advised to be cautious while driving, especially at night.Fagbemi said, “While this remains quite unfortunate and highly regrettable, we commiserate with the family and loved ones of victims of hit-and-run incidents across the state. We advise drivers to take cognisance of pedestrians crossing the highways to help reduce cases of this nature.
