IPOH: Perak recorded 1,711 new hand, foot, and mouth disease (HFMD) cases from June 5 to 11, says Mohd Akmal Kamaruddin.

The state Health, Science, Environment, and Green Technology Committee chairman said with the new data, Perak now has a total of 9,743 cumulative HFMD cases this year.

“Until June 11, at least 201 kindergartens and preschools were closed due to HFMD. A total of 67 of the closed premises are in Manjung and 54 premises are in Kinta,” he said after launching the World Blood Donor Day observation at the Raja Permaisuri Bainun Hospital on Saturday .
