The Ogun State Police command said it has so far confirmed two deaths in the bloody clash between commercial motorcyclists working at Dangote Cement
DAILY POST reports that the clash, which started as a minor issue between bike riders and their union, later aggravated into an ethnic crisis between the Hausa and the Yoruba riding motorcycles in the area.
According to Oyeyemi, the State Commissioner of Police, Edward Ajogun, on Wednesday, led a team of security agents to Ibese for an on-the-spot assessment. “All security agents were there in Ibese today . The situation has been brought under control. There is no clash going on there any longer. So far, two persons have been confirmed dead,” Oyeyemi said on phone.
Meanwhile, our correspondent reports that many Dangote trucks were set on fire by angry youths between Tuesday and Wednesday.An indigene of the area, who does not want his name in print, told our correspondent that the Olu Ode of Ibese was attacked on Wednesday.
