PETALING JAYA: It will be a tale of two halves for the national football team. The second half of 2019 was good for the team but the first half of 2020 will tell is they indeed are on the road to reclaiming their place among the Asian elite.
The Harimau Malaya started 2019 slow but went on to record 10 wins from 14 matches, including a sensational outing in their World Cup qualifying campaign.
Thailand are third with eight, UAE fourth with six and a game in hand while Indonesia are at the bottom without a point. “The players are starting to have the confidence and belief that they can qualify for the third round but we still need to improve on our fitness and technical abilities.”
