Under the Trudeau government and its “aw-the-poor-dears” approach to crime, the severity of crime has risen by nearly 40 per cent.
Those “reforms” were an integral part of the Liberals’ progressive, every-boy-a-good-boy theories that aimed to reduce crime through group hugs for lifelong criminals and gun bans for law-abiding hunters, collectors and sport shooters.
In Calgary over the same period, 23 of 45 individuals charged with murder were either on bail or on early release from their prison sentences. This is largely for demographic reasons. As a nation, our population has been aging, and since violent crime, in particular, is largely committed by young males, as our population has grown older, our crime rates have come down.
For instance, since the Trudeau Liberals were first sworn in, the number of violent crimes has increased by 39 per cent.
