Tension has gripped residents of Sapele, Delta State, as gunmen shot dead four people, including the Legislative Leader of the Warri North Local Government Area, Grikpa Bigha, in the metropolis.
Lamenting the spate of killings on his Facebook page, Khalil Samuel, a resident of the troubled town, wrote, “Four people killed in Sapele this morning. Sapele needs serious intervention.”
Reacting, a former member of the Delta State House of Assembly, Daniel Mayuku, expressed shock at Grikpa’s death. When contacted, the state Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Bright Edafe, confirmed the death of two persons, saying others were in the hospital receiving treatment from gunshot injuries.”All rights reserved.
