Gunmen kidnap INEC official in Jigawa

Gunmen have kidnapped an official of the Independent National Electoral Commission , Mr Mahadi Hassan,in Jigawa State.

The HOD, Voter Education and Publicity in the state, Mr John Kaiwa, confirmed this to Channels TV on Tuesday.The Commissioner of Police in the state, Mr Bala Zama, confirmed the arrest adding that the kidnappers have contacted the family. “Hassan’s abductors have demanded a ransom before he can regain his freedom,” the police commissioner said.
