ALSO suspected terrorists have attacked the headquarters of Maru Local Council of Zamfara State, killing one and abducting three others. According to a witness, Abubakar Maru, who spoke to newsmen in a telephone interview, the bandits stormed the town around 11.13 pm on Wednesday. He further stated that the armed bandits operated freely in the town for over two hours.

Efforts to contact the spokesman of Zamfara police command, ASP Yazid Abubakar, were not successful at the time of filing this report. Abubakar said the terrorists also abducted one person, adding that they had planned to cause great havoc in the area but for the quick intervention of the police and other security forces.
