Checking out 'Guide to Gain Admission In Nigeria' on The Nation Newspaper Community:

I have discovered that many secondary leavers have issues gaining admission into the universities in Nigeria to study their desired course. It is no longer news that the majorthat many Nigerians are intereted in studying are Medicine and Surgery, Nursing, Elect/Elect Engr, Law, Pharmacy, Economics, etc. However, many students have been disappointed and are made to settle for other courses that are not of interest to them.

The major reason for this article is to give you some hints on what to do before you write JAMB so that you may study your dream course. It is a smart step to check what the school requirements before you apply to study there. UI, UNILAG, OAU, UNN, UNIBEN will require a good JAMB score and SSCE result before you can secure admission to study in the school. For instance, if you want to study any Engineering course in Nigeria, you are expected to score above 200 in JAMB.

In addition, you must have at least five credit in SSCE which must include Mathematics and English and other relevant subject . The next step is to prepare well for the Post UTME. What determines whether you will be admitted or not is your performance in JAMB, SSCE result, and Post UTME score. If you can put in your best to do excellently well in all the 3 stages, you will definitely be offered admission.

Gaininig admission isn't something you should take with leveity. You must be well prepared, put in your best, and follow the admission process of the school of your choice to know what is being required of you to secure a place there.
