As politicians gear up for the 2023 elections, the Chairman, Centre for Anti-corruption and Open Leadership (CACOL), Comrade Debo Adeniran, has implored Lagos residents to prioritise anti-corruption and accountability issues by voting credible people during the upcoming general elections.
Speaking at a one-day consultative meeting, organised by CACOL in collaboration with Civil Society Legislative Advocacy Centre , with support from MacArthur Foundation, Adeniran who said the step is a path to delivery of dividends of democracy, maintained that many Nigerians have kept their people in hell, while they live in heaven.
He implored politicians to stop deceiving the electorate with beautiful agenda that would take the people out of poverty, only to get elected and execute projects and programmes that would impoverish them the more. “If you campaign for heaven, do not take the people to hell,” he said.
