Worried by the negative influence of social vices among teenagers, a Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO), Mum 2 Mum Global Foundation has urged teenagers to shun social vices that would have effect on them negatively.

The Founder of the Foundation, Chinenye Jerry-Amah gave the charge in Lagos at an empowerment summit organised for teenagers with the theme: “Social Vices, the Impact on Teenagers”.Jerry-Amah, who lamented the alarming rate of social vices among teens, said: “There is need for teenagers to be guided and be conscious of things they do, watch, as well as type of friends and guidance they associate with so that they won’t be misled.

On impact of movies on teenagers, an actress and filmmaker, Moyinoluwa Olutayo said: “No one can over-emphasise the power of the media, basically what movies should be doing is to actually entertain and educate the minds of people. “There is no movie that sought to encourage vices, or any producer that would come out purposely because he wants to pollute people’s minds, but we still have some work to be done.”
